FROM:
Jack Hedge, P.E.
RE:
Grapevine Springs Park (Open Space) 490-485
A meeting was held at the park site at ten o'clock a.m. Friday,
February 12, 1993 relative to Dallas County's earlier letter to the
USA Corps of Engineers inquiring as to the necessity for a Section
404 Permit.
Those in attendance were:
Representing Dallas County (214-653-7153)
T.R. Kennedy, Assistant Director, Engineering and
Construction, Public Works Department
Jack D. Hedge, Manager, Civil Design Section, Public
Works Department
Rick Loessburg, Planning Development Coordinator
Mary Phinney, Parks/Open Space Coordinator
Representing USA Corps of Engineers (817-334-2188)
Jim Herrington
Following an explanation of the proposed work, Mr. Herrington
indicated that a permit would be required, but that depending on
the amount of fill to be done and the acreage of fill, the
"national permit" would probably be used. Problems are not
anticipated in acquiring a permit.
Public Works is to furnish Mr. Herrington:
The estimated fill volume.
The fill acreage.
The concrete riprap area and volume.
A sketch of the park property showing the location of the
erosion control work.
Mr. Herrington also suggested sowing Blackwell Switchgrass and
Yellow Indian Grass and/or other native grasses when the Curlex
blanket is installed.
