The County is requesting the variance so that a Floodplain Development Permit can be issued in order that the erosion protection along Grapevine Creek, within the park site, can be started. The approved study was submitted to FEMA on June 29, 1993. The City is currently awaiting confirmation from FEMA that they have received the study. The County has been made aware that if FEMA requires any modifications to their work then Dallas County would be required to make those changes as directed by FEMA.
