I prepared letters requesting technical qualifications from several
engineering consultants regarding the above referenced project.
I have asked each firm to respond by or before September 21, 1990.
I will then review their qualifications and prepare a City Council
agenda item with a recommendation for the October 9, 1990 City
Council meeting.
Please note that I did not send an RFQ to Ginn, Inc., since you
indicated that they are not interested in doing this project. As
per telephone conversation with John Karlsruher, it appears that
the completion of this project from start to finish may take 10-
12 months, pending the City Council's authorization and approval.
As you know, I asked Becky to contact Jim Ragsdill to see if he
would advertise this in a local newspaper..., etc. It is my
understanding that the deadline of September 21, 1990 cannot be
made. I would like to make a request that this item be placed on
October 23, 1990 City Council agenda, instead of October 9, 1990,
for two reasons as listed:
1)
To have the West Side Thoroughfare Plan adopted by the City
Council, since the Bethel Road right-of-way width on west side
of Denton Tap is still questionable.
2) To be able to advertise in the local newspapers for two weeks.
