Re: Water System on Private Property
Per our discussion on Monday (September 23, 1991) I informed you
that you did have a leak on a fire hydrant on your property and it
would be your responsibility 'to have it repaired. The Wellington
Place Apartment Complex has a master metering system which allows
for 100% of the water supplied to the Complex to be metered. This
type of system has been installed since early 1985. Therefore, in
having a system of this type requires all water lines and
components located in the Complex on private property to be
maintained by the owner. The Fire Department does have
requirements for having operational fire hydrants within private
property depending on the distances (from fire hydrants to
buildings) and access points.
Additionally, I will mention that there is a thirty (30) foot
sanitary sewer easement along the rear parking lot of your Complex
and this easement provides access for the City's Sanitary Sewer
Line.
