Dear Mr. Griffin:
Please find enclosed a petition from the six Shadow Ridge Estates homeowners whose
property backs up to the easement area between Devonshire and Shadow Ridge.
As a result of this petition, we are requesting a meeting with you as soon as possible
to officially voice our concerns over what is going to be done to bring this easement area
to a closure. I have been communicating with you, as you know, for well over three
years and continue to receive conflicting information from the city as well as several
representatives from Devonshire.
My most recent conversation was with Mr. Brian Wolf, VP of the Devonshire Homeowners
Association. He communicated to me that you (or other City representatives) had met
with them (the association) not too long ago where the easement area was discussed and
they virtually gave their okay on what the city was proposing to do. That's all fine;
however, I and the five other homeowners in Shadow Ridge find it a little more than
disturbing that you would meet with them to discuss this issue when it is primarily the
Shadow Ridge homeowners responsibility and concern. We understand Devonshire's
interest, as it should be, but to not involve the Shadow Ridge residents or at least invite
them to attend such an information meeting is of grave concern. In my last
conversation with you prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, you made no mention
whatsoever about having met with Devonshire residents.
It only seems logical for everyone involved to meet to discuss this matter and put all the
cards on the table, so to speak. This issue has and continues to be a rather touchy
subject for those involved and we believe if we come face-to-face and discuss this prior
to the City's final decision, it would benefit us all and eliminate quite a lot of frustration on
everyone's part.
Thank you for your time and we sincerely want to work with the City and the Devonshire
homeowners to work out the best possible plan of action and urge you to consider our
request. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting with you on this issue.

PETITION TO THE CITY OF COPPELL
We, the below signed homeowners in the Shadow Ridge Estates subdivision and/or
Devonshire subdivision, are requesting that a final decision be delayed until we all may
meet together and voice our concerns over the options and proposed solution to the
issue concerning the easement area between the Shadow Ridge and Devonshire
properties.
We are of the belief that a final proposal is ready to be proposed and voted on by the
City Council. It is our understanding that the City plans to line the ditch (channel) with
a ten foot wide, three foot deep concrete runway.
We are very concerned with this proposal and we feel that we have legitimate reasons to
request further discussions over such a proposal.
