December 28, 2005 Transwestern Commercial Services 5001 Spring Valley Road, Suite 600W Dallas, Texas 75244 Attn: Mr. Jim Gaspard Re: Moisture Evaluation No. 1 Amberpoint Building 5 Sandy Lake Road Coppell, Texas Terracon Project No. 94051418.0023 Consulting Engineers & Scientists Terracon Consultants, Inc. 8901 Carpenter Freeway, Suite 100 Dallas, Texas 75247 Phone 214.630.1010 Fax 214.630.7070 Dear Mr. Gaspard: Terracon has completed its evaluation of moisture levels achieved by water pressure injection at the above referenced site. This was the first evaluation performed by Terracon for the referenced project. Based on a conversation with Mr. Bob Britton of Rogers O'Brien Construction Company, the building pad was injected with four passes of water to a maximum dept,~oTbout 7 feet prior to this evaluation. Fourteen borings were drilled on December 22 and 23, 2 5.0~-~E/~b~r~as continuously sampled to a maximum depth of 7 feet with thin-walled tube samplers, The samples were extruded, logged, sealed and packaged at the site for transportation to the laboratory. In the laboratory, moisture content and hand penetrometer readings were determined on one-foot intervals. Swell tests were performed on selected soil samples. A diagram depicting the approximate boring locations is attached. Laboratory data is provided on the attached Summary of Laboratory Tests. Review of moisture content determinations, hand penetrometer and swell tests indicate that the moisture contents are generally below the desired levels across the building pad. It is Terracon's recommendation that at least two additional injection passes with water be performed on the entire building pad prior to re-evaluation. Additional passes may be necessary.
