Amberpoint BP 2R-LR060116Januaw 16,2006 Transwestern~ervices 5001 Spring Valley Road, Suite 600W Dallas, Texas 75244 Attn: Mr. Jim Gaspard Re: Moisture Evaluation No. 2 Amberpoint Building 5 Sandy Lake Road Coppell, Texas Terracon Project No. 94051418.0051 "lr rmcon Consulting Engineers & Scientists Terracon Consultants, Inc. 8901 Carpenter Freeway, Suite 100 Dallas, Texas 75247 www. terracon.com Dear Mr. Gaspard: Terracon has completed its evaluation of moisture levels achieved by water pressure injection at the above referenced site. This was the second evaluation performed by Terracon for the referenced project. Based on a conversation with Mr. Bob Bdtton of Rogers O'Brien Construction Company, the building pad was injected two additional times prior to these borings. Fourteen borings were drilled on January 10 and 11,2006. Each boring was continuously sampled to a maximum depth of 7 feet with thin-walled tube samplers. The samples were extruded, logged, sealed and packaged at the site for transportation to the laboratory. In the laboratory, moisture content and hand penetrometer readings were determined on one-foot intervals. Swell tests were performed on selected soil samples. A diagram depicting the approximate boring locations is attached. Laboratory data is provided on the attached Summary of Laboratory Tests. Review of the laboratory data generally indicates improvement in moisture levels since the first evaluation which was reported on December 28, 2005. However, moisture levels are below the desired levels in 9 of the 14 borings. These borings are located over the full building pad. It is our recommendation that the pad be injected again at least once and preferably twice.
