We typically rotate projects on and off the water bill insert just because of space limitations. However, we do update our web page weekly with project information. You can go to www.ci.coppell,tx.us and find construction project information on the opening page under "Construction" on the right hand side. The following is copied from our web site for East Sandy Lake: "The contractor is currently working on the retaining wall on the north side of the culvert which should be complete by the end of January. Construction of more walls west of the culvert will be started and completed by the end of February. The left out portion of concrete on the north side at the culvert should be poured by the first week of February, and traffic should be switched to the new pavement toward the end of February. Most utility work is near completion and concurrently with the wall work, contractors are forming up and extending the culvert to the south by St. Joseph's and should be complete by mid-February. After the switch of the traffic, the contractor should start filling on the south side and in April should begin his subgrade work and start paving shortly thereafter." As you can see, we anticipate switching traffic to the new section in late February. The contractor still anticipates completing the project in mid summer, in the June to July timeframe. This project is still on schedule. I will again have my inspector discuss with the contractor the need to ensure that potholes are patched in a timely manner. Kenneth M. Griffin, P. E. The project seems to be moving very very slow. The traffic road is deteriorating fast and our expensive cars' front-end and tires are also deteriorating with the road. ! just paid huge amount of taxes to the City of Coppell. What for? Just like SH 121, because of the dry weather, the project should be completed sooner and not later. It started out that the project would be finished in Summer of 2006. However now it appears that it will continue through end of 2006. Why? !t's a pain dealing with the traffic from Universal Academy and St. Josephs' Village. Also, in the insert with water bill for January called City Desk, why isn't there any mention of the East Sandy Lake Construction project under Travelin' Coppell? Please fix the drivable road on Sandy Lake and OPEN the constructed concrete lanes ASAP. This street should have been fixed in 1999!
