Terracon has completed its evaluation of moisture levels achieved by water pressure injection at the
above referenced site. This was the second evaluation performed by Terracon for the referenced
project (Building 6). The building pad was injected with two additional passes of water (for a total of
six) to a maximum depth of about 7 feet prior to this evaluation. The injection process was observed
on a full time basis by a representative of Terracon.
Eight borings were drilled on February 6, 2006. Each boring was continuously sampled to a
maximum depth of 7 feet with thin-walled tube samplers. The samples were extruded, logged,
sealed and packaged at the site for transportation to the laboratory. In the laboratory, moisture
content and hand penetrometer readings were determined on one-foot intervals. Swell tests were
performed on selected soil samples.
A diagram depicting the approximate boring locations is attached. Laboratory data is provided on
the attached Summary of Laboratory Tests.
Review of moisture content determinations, hand penetrometer and swell tests indicate that the
moisture contents are generally below the desired levels across the building pad. It is Terracon's
recommendation that at least two additional injection passes with water be performed on the entire
building pad prior to re-evaluation. Additional passes may be n~cessary.
