However, after reviewing your site and the locations of existing fire hydrants, it has been determined that an on-site fire hydrant will not be required for your project. I understand that you are very busy these days so I'll try not to take up too much of your time. My wife Lori spoke with Debbie Cravey this morning regarding the final hurdle we are having regarding the construction of our new building. We were wanting to explore some of our options and visit with you about them. She suggested we send you an email and copy her in which we have done. I know you must be swamped right now and if you had rather us speak to Mike we would be happy to do so. Briefly, we would like to discuss if we can possibly get an exception or variance regarding putting in a fire plug on our property. There are already two plugs within 150 ft of where our structure is going to be, one being on the northwest corner of Sandy Lake and one just across the street on Moore which is probably the closest. It is my understanding that it is not common practice to have a fire plug on all four corners of an intersection, so it seems that we are adequately covered in this regard. Charlene LaMattina: Fwd: Re: Nationwide Insurance Building Sandy Lake & MOore Page 2 I Our contractor stated that if we have to bore under Sandy Lake to place another plug, that it will tear up the newly improved street, causing signifcant problems for traffic and time and expense for all involved, resulting in extensive repairs, etc. Using one of the two fireplugs that are well within 150 feet of our structure seems to be the most practical answer for all parties involved. The engineering department indicated that this was a fire department call so we wanted to discuss it with you. Thanks for your help and your consideration. David King
