ST9902-CS060224COPPELL MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: DATE: REF: Ken Griffin, City Engineer Keith Marvin, Asst. City Engineer Larry Davis, Construction Inspector February 24, 2006 ST 99-02 A, West Sandy Lake Rd - Work Activity Update Week of 2/20 to 2/24 1. It was discovered that the proposed 33" RCP at Oakbend Subdivision is in conflict with the existing 8" water main on Oakbend Ln. This information has been forwarded to Matt Atkins. I am discussing with him the possibility of lowering the proposed storm drain elevation to avoid this conflict. * 2. It was also discovered that the existing 10" fire line lead to the existing fire vault and domestic meter conflicts with the 30" RCP at sta. 47+00. The plans called for a ring connection on the 10' fire line to be tapped to the existing 24" (the location is in the ROW in from of Coppell Bible Fellowship). It is my belief that this can be handled with a different configuration which would result in a cost saving and construction time savings. However, this connection will require a shut down of approximately 6 hours to make the reconnection and bring the fire line and existing domestic water on line. * 3. Contractor relocated the existing 1" water service east of Oakbend; relocated and tapped to the existing 8" waterline on Oakbend. This item could also generate cost savings to us and construction time savings by simply relocating this irrigation tap at the suggested location. * 4. Comractor is laying 30" RCP from sta. 12+50 west to sta. 15+00. 5. Station 42+66 fire hydrant relocation - the relocation is being done off the 12" water main on the west side of Freeport Pkwy. I field-approved the relocation of the 6" fire line tap to the new 12" water main along the west side of Freeport, which will also result in cost and time savings. * * These suggested field changes should not require change orders, the cost savings could be applied to other appropriate areas during the construction of this project.
