Grapevine Springs-CS051101Rhonda Bro¢~er~ :~di C0nstr~cti~n ad ~ent to Grapevin~ ~prin~ Park _ ..... Pa__g~l From: To: Date: Subject: John Elias Rhonda Brothers 11/1/2005 12:06:46 PM Fwd: construction adjacent to Grapevine Springs Park Rhonda, Can you please pass this along to Larry davis. Thank You John Elias >>> DavidDEmerson@comcast.net 10/31/05 9:02 PM >>> rve noticed recent construction adjacent to Grapevine Springs park that concerns me and I was wondering if the Parks Dept. was aware of this and if the necessary permits were obtained. Downstream of the embankment on the opposite side of the creek a ditch has been dug, about the width of a bulldozer, from the adjacent property into the creel. This resulted in a pile of loose dirt sitting in the creek and what appears to be a drainage ditch that will drain a property owners land into the creek. I am concerned the loose dirt will lower the quality of the water in the creek and the drainage ditch will cause run-off to enter the creek, also lowering water quality and potentially blocking or altering the flow of water. Is the Parks Dept. aware of this recent construction? Is this within your domain to regulate or take to those who do regulate it? If not do you know the city dept. I should contact? Is a permit required for this type of construction? Does the Parks Dept. share my concern for the quality of the creek? Regards, David Emerson 742 Teal Cove Coppell
