Erosion Control Plan Review
Dear Mr. Macatee:
The City of Coppell has reviewed the erosion control plan that was submitted for the above referenced
proper¢ and has the following comments to offer:
The portion of the silt fencing shown along the bank of the channel is currently installed. This silt fencing
is not completely effective. The banks are eroding and the silt is collecting in the channel bottom. The silt
needs to be cleaned from the channel bottom, the banks repaired, and adequate silt fencing placed along
the top of the bank.
Although not currently installed, the silt fencing around the stockpile should be adequate. As stockpiles
are not allowed on the site once construction is completed, a letter requesting permission for the stockpile
to remain will be required. The duration for which the stockpile will remain and measures to remove the
stockpile if it remains past the specified duration should be addressed in the letter.
Since no grass has been established north of the channel, the possibility of xvind erosion, which has not
been addresses by this plan, exists. Please present a plan to address wind erosion when climatic
coaditions make the site susceptible.
It is the City's understanding that the purpose of this plan is for the inlerim. Please provide a statement
detailing this interim time period and provide provisions for stabilizing the site in the event the
construction on the remainder of the site does not commencc prior to thc cnd of thc intcrim period.
