You've answered my questions. I am just happy to hear the project is still moving forward. June will be here before we know it. Thanks, Jeff Green Keith Marvin <kmarvin@ci.coppell.tx.us> wrote: Mr. Green, Unfortunately the project schedule for this signal light has been delayed form the original schedule that Ken sent you. I had a few issues crop up that needed my immediate attention, and I was not able to complete this design when I had initially told him that it woutd be complete. As for the actual schedule, the design is now complete, and the advertizement for bids will be placed in this Friday's newspaper. The contract will then be presented to City Council at the May 23rd Council Meeting for award. I anticipate construction will begin in June 2006. If you wish to discuss this project further, please feel free to call. Keith Keith R. Marvin, P.E. I am curious if the dates mentioned in your response are still on target? Thanks, JeffGreen 1134 BethelSchoolCourt CoppelI, TX 75019 214.763.6967 ! Keith Marvin- R~i I:~d: light inst~ii on Bethel School Court & McArthur P~ge 21 Original inquiry: '1 recently moved into one of the new town homes built on Bethel School Court. Myself and the other residence have found it VERY difficult to exit onto McArthur before work and any time between 6pm - 7:30pm. It is extremely dangerous making a left from Bethel School Court to go south onto McArthur. To do so you have to pull into the middle of a 4 way intersection with no signal lights to protect you. I can predict an accident will occur in the near future and with the speed of the cars going north and south on Mc^rthur it will be a very bad accident. I believe the speed limit is 35mph but people going to work or going home after work are in a hurry and do not stay below the speed limit. The builders and home owner association said they installed the required signal wiring and equipment the city of Coppell required and the city had plans to install a traffic signal soon. They do not know when; which is why I am sending this message.., is there an ETA when a traffic signal will be installed on McArthur & Bethel School Court? If not, what can we do to request one?" Coppell response: "Mr. Green The traffic light is currently under design by Keith Marvin of my office. He anticipates the design to be complete in January and out to bid in February. With this schedule, the project could be awarded to the Iow bidder at the March 14th or 28th Council meeting. Work should begin in April 2006. For additional information, you can contact Keith at 972-304-3679 or kmarvin@ci.coppell.tx.us. As a point of clarification, the developer did not install any wiring or equipment with their development. They only placed an empty conduit under Bethel School so we could install wiring later without cutting the street. If you have any additional questions, please contact Keith or myself. Thank you.
