If you have any changes, comments, or questions, please call me at (703) 317-6292. 1) I reran the area of the split floodway as a split flow. The effective base flood run indicates that flow can move back and forth between Denton Creek to Old Denton Creek. From the topography, this is not the case. A split flow would be more representative of the actual flow situation. Therefore, instead of the 4 models that currently define the floodway: 1) Denton Creek downstream of the split 2) Denton Creek split 3) Old Denton Creek split 4) Denton Creek upstream of the split only 2 models now define the floodway: 1) Denton Creek floodway 2) Old Denton Creek floodway 2) I changed some of the topographic information at Cross Sections 23800, 24400, and 24700. The distance from the levee to the Old Denton Creek channel on the topographic work map you submitted did not match the same distance in the effective model. 3) The new floodways are slightly different from the effective floodways. I shifted the Denton Creek floodway south on the map so that the levee would no longer be shown in the floodway. Concerning the modeling, the floodway widths for Old Denton Creek on the map now match those shown in the model which was not the case for the effective model. Also in both models, all of the floodway widths are now less than the 100 year floodplain widths at each cross section within the split which was not the case in the effective models. 4) The 100 year topwidth at Cross Section 22370 shown in the effective model is 530 feet. The effective map shows a topwidth of about 1,500 feet. The map shows a much larger topwidth because there is a low point in the right overbank. I have chosen to map the smaller topwidth because I feel that based on the work map you submitted, the low point is an ineffective flow area.
