Re: FEMA Map Revisions/Amendments
Dear Ken:
At this time, we are complete with the Andrew Brown Park, Senior Citizens Center, and Deforest Service Center
map amendments with the exception of the final LOMR for Andrew Brown Park. Upon construction of the
Andrew Brown Park improvements, the fmal LOMR can be submitted to FEMA, based on as-built information.
In the course of performing the work, the need for additional services arose in several areas. In Andrew Brown
Park, a reclamation plan was developed to provide a large site for future park improvements such as a swimming
pool. This involved additional flood plain and floodway hydraulic analysis and mapping. This reclamation plan is
reflected in the pending CLOMR submittal. In addition, costs were incurred for deed research at the Senior
Citizen's Center when that information could not be found in City files. The additional costs for these services
are summarized in Attachment A, Additional Services To Date.
Also shown in Attachment A are proposed additional costs to create a Stream G1 Appendix to the City-Wide
Storm Water Master Plan. This would incorporate the changes made to the Stream G1 hydraulic model for the
LOMA submittal (existing land use discharges) into a flood plain management model (fully developed landuse
discharges) resulting in one consistent hydraulic model for future use on Stream G1 (Item I). In addition, the
hydraulic model for the channel and road crossing improvements proposed for Stream G1 could be updated in a
similar manner (Item II).
Therefore, we respectfully request additional fee for this project in the amount of $3,400 to cover additional
services already performed. In addition, please consider a request for future additional services on Stream G1 in
the amount of $6,650. A breakdown of these costs is summarized in Attachment A.
We have very much enjoyed this opportunity to work with the City of Coppell and are available at your
convenience to answer questions about this request or any of the map revisions currently pending.
Sincerely,
HALFF ASSOCIATES, INC.
