Floodplain Map Revisions
Dear Ms. Borgnet-Harris:
I have received and reviewed the information submitted June 11, 1996 concerning Alternates A
and B for reclamation of Andrew Brown Park West to allow the placement of a pool. My
understanding is that Alternate B causes significant rises in the water surface off site of the park
and as such is not an acceptable alternative. Alterafive A causes a very minor increase offsite
and as presented appears to be the most valid approach to placement of the pool on the park site.
However, included with this letter is a markup of the Alternate A exhibit which shows the
inclusion of an additional hatched area between the proposed fill area and the area that is
currently existing out of the floodplain. If in fact this crosshatched area could be included as
part of the reclamation, then this would allow greater flexibility in the placement of the pool on
this site. What impact, if any, will the crosshatched area have on the flood study for Alternate
A? Once that question has been resolved and we come to a mutual agreement on the final area
of reclamation, we need to proceed with finalizing this project and gaining necessary FEMA
approvals.
