Re: Flood Plain Map Revisions at Three Sites for the City of Coppell.
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Enclosed you will find preliminary documents conceming the flood plain map revisions for the Andrew
Brown Park West improvements site, the DeForest Road Service Center and the Coppell Senior Citizen
Center.
The information for the Andrew Brown Park West site is in all points similar to the one sent to you on
April 1, 1996. A letter certifying that we have a "no rise" condition has been included as well. A copy
of the certification letter should be kept in the City of Coppell's files for future reference, another copy
should be sent to the regional offices of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in
Denton, Texas.
The study of the DeForest Road Service Center is essentially complete. Flood plain delineation based
on the official City of Coppell topographic map and the current effective hydraulic model confirms that
this site is not included in the FEMA 100-year flood plain. The request for a map change for this site
will need to be submitted separately to FEMA in the form of a formal Letter of Map Amendment
(LOMA). This paperwork still needs to be completed
Hydraulic analysis of the upstream end of Stream G-1 also shows that the future Coppell Senior Citizens
Center, presently a fire station, is situated outside of the FEMA effective 100-year flood plain. A
separate LOMA is being drafted at this point.
