In response to your letter and comments therelll on our plans for the referenced project, I submit the
folloWIng responses and revIsed plan sheet:
The eXlstll1g traffic signal IS tIed In to the RaIlroad signal controller for RaIlroad preemptIon Our
speCIficatIons called for the contractor to transfer thIS cable to the new controller when the new
sIgnal was actIvated We have modIfied the plans to more accurately reflect thIS In the plan In
additIon to the specIficatIOn
2 There IS an eXlstmg pole and mast arm for the pre-sIgnal WIth a stop bar north of the tracks We
will be reusl11g thIS pole and mast arm to I11stall new sIgnal heads and wIrIng. ThIS locatIOn IS
reflected In the plans
3 ThIS project \vlll utilIze video detectIOn rather than loop detectors In response to t111S comment
we have added an advance camera to the pre-sIgnal pole on the north Side of the mtersectJon
ThiS camera \\ III be set up WIth advanced detectIon zones as recommended
The construction contract \\as awarded to Roadway SolutIons, Inc of Carrollton, Texas dUrIng the May
23, 2006 CIty Council meetll1g The contractor WIll be responsIble for completll1g the 'Contractor's
Rlght-of-Entry' agreement and for all necessary coordmatlon WIth DART
Enclosed are three sets of the rey, Ised engll1eerIng plan showmg these reVISIons Please remove sheet 6 of
] 2 from the three sets prevlousl) submItted and replace WIth the attached newly Issued sheet. ThIS
