AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICI~E 1182C-1, VERNON'S REVIS~ CIVIL
STATUTES OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE T~ CITY
TO TA~E OVER THE DALLAS COUNTY-COPPELL FRESH WATER SUPPLY
DISTRICT NO. 17; PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF THE ORDINANCE
UPON A VOTE OF AT LF~ST T~O-THIRDS OF THE ENTIRE ~]~BERSHIP
OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City of Coppell has located within its
boundaries the entire area cmprising the Dallas County-Coppell
Fresh Water Supply District No. 17, which District was created
prior to the t~e the City of CoPl~ell was incorporated, and~
of the rights provided for in Article 1182C-1 of Vernon's
Revised Civil Statutes, which authorizes the City to t~ke over
the Fresh Water Supply District and for such District to he
abolished; NOW, THEREFORe,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COPPF~L, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City of Coppell does hereby
adopt the provisions of Article 1182C-1 o~ Vernon's Revised
Civil Statutes ~e as to ~a~e the provisions of such article
applicable to the City and to the Dallas County-Coppell Fresh
Water Supply District No.
Section 2. That within ninety (90) days after the
passase of this ordinance, the governing body shall, by
ordinance, designate the date upon which the City shall ta~e
over the Dallas ¢ounty-Coppell Fresh Water Supply District No. 17
and ~uch district _~hall be ~bol~shedo
Section 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
by a vo~e of not less than two-thirds of the entire ~e~bership
of the C~ty Council.
