DR9502-CS 640505 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, FIXING Tile ~ DAY OF _. ~/]/~.~ /_~ .~_/_~ 1964, AS THE DATE WHEN FRESH WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT NO. 17 AND SAID DISTRICT SHALL B~ ABOLISHED; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY SHALL TAa~ OVER ALL PROPERTIES AND A~SET9 AND 3HALL ASSUME ALL DEBTS, LIABILITIES AND OBLIGA- TIONS AND SHAI~ PERFORM ALL FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES OF SUCH DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMFJtGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of CoPI~ll has heretofore adopted an ordinance adopting the provisions of Article Vernon*s Revised Civil Statutes, which authorizes the City to take over the Dallas County-CoppelX Fresh Water Supply District No. 17 and such district to be ahelished, and Wli~REAS, under the provisions of maid Article 1192C*1, it is necessary for the City to fix a date for the taking over of said district within ninety (90) days from the passage of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TH~ CITY COUNCIL OF TH~ CITY OF COPPSLL, TSX S: Section 1. That the governing body of the City of Coppell finds that all et the?t~rritory of the Dallas Coumty- Coppell Fresh Water Supply District No. 17 is located within the l~mits of the City of Coppell, and that having accepted the provisions of Article l182C-I, it is necessary that the date be fixed for the taking over of said district and for such district to be abolished, Section 2. That the _~ day of~-~~'1 1964, is horeby fixed as the date upon which hm C y ~ppm- shall take over tho Dallas Coumty-Coppell Fresh Water ~upply District No. '17, and upon said date much district shall be abolished. ~ection 3. That upon the date above indicated, the City oX Coppell shall take over all. properties and shall aeeune all debts, liabilities and obligations and shall perforn all functions and services of such district. Section 4. That the City of Coppell shall hereafter levy and cause to be collected upon all taxable property within on, all bonds of the D~llas County-Coppell Fresh Water ~upply District No. 17, which are payable in whole or in part ad valorm tax~e. Section 5. That the City of Coppell do~s hereby accept and assu~® all the righter duties and obli~ations ~posed upon it under the provisions of Article 1182C-1 of Vernon's Civil Statutes~ and ~rm the date o~ the taking over o~ tim Dallas Coanty-Coppell Fresh Water Supply District No. 17 as provided for herein, said District shall be and the sa~e is hereby declared abolished. Section 6. The fact that the City of Cop]mil has adopted the provisions of Article l182C-1 o~ Yernon'e Revised Civil Statutes obligates the City to take over the operation Dallas County-Coppell Fresh ~ater Supply District No. 17 and creates an urgency and an eaergency and requires that thin ordinance shall take effect rrm and mediately after its passage, aa the law in such cases provides.
