This was the third evaluation performed by Terracon for the referenced project (Building 6). The building pad was injected with two additional passes of water (for a total of eight) to a maximum depth of about 7 feet prior to this evaluation. The injection process was observed on a full time basis by a representative of T erracon. Eight borings were drilled on March 1,2006. Each boring was continuously sampled to a maximum depth of 7 feet with thin-walled tube samplers. The samples were extruded, logged, sealed and packaged at the site for transportation to the laboratory. In the laboratory, moisture content and hand penetrometer readings were determined on one-foot intervals. Swell tests were performed on selected soil samples. A diagram depicting the approximate boring locations is attached. Laboratory data is provided on the attached Summary of Laboratory Tests. Review of the laboratory data generally indicates out of eight borings only two borings (B-59 and B- 60) are below desired moisture levels. It is Terracon's recommendation that at least two additional injection passes with water be performed in the area of borings and B-60 as indicated on the attached Figure 1. Additional borings on Building 6 are n onside d necessary. :?,(~.~~ ~/ ~~ Delivering Success for Clients and Employees Since 1965 More Than 70 Offices Nationwide Transwestern Commercial Services March 7, 2006 Project No. 94051418.0228 lli!rracan Please contact us if there are any questions concerning the test results or recommendations.
