The purpose of this letter is to request reimbursement to our company for
additional costs incurred on the project.

As you know, on 8/25/08, our company began pouring the concrete in the area of
the median to be stamped and colored. We had planned to use the "shake-ten"
method to achieve the color specified by the city. We had poured 4 CY of
concrete when the city inspector informed us that the "shake-0n" method was not
acceptable and instructed us to remove the concrete already in place and re-pour
wrth an integral color We removed 2 CY and left 2 CY to form the sub base
We regret that there was a misunderstanding regarding this matter. However,
according to the drawn~gs furnished by the city, the method to be used to color
the concrete was not specified. Therefore, we feel that the additional work
resulting from the city's instructions described above caused additional costs to
be added to the project that were not antiapated. We are requesting
reimbursement for these Costs {without markup} in the amount of $1,000 00

For future consideration, the "shake-on° method is accepted by Bomanite
{Bomanite Bulletin 200 6}. Some, in fact, consider this method to be better than
using integral color because of the greater ability to maintain uniform surface
