Dear Ms Taylor,
In accordance with your request, we have generated a revised Construction Materials Testing Cost
Estimate for the work remaining on the above referenced project.
As shown on the attachment, that value was estimated at $37,411 I have also attached a Budget
Statement for the project and as of Friday, June 16th, we have a total of $37,055 left of the original
proposal amount.
If you compare the number of each individual testing units on the revised estimate to what was
originally proposed verses what has actually been performed, you will notice a significant difference
Because our industry cannot control our work schedule, our cost estimates are merely "educated
guesses" as to how the contractor will proceed In this effort, the larger the project, the closer we
typically are in our cost estimates
What does this all mean to the City of Coppell and their budget needs? I'm not really sure, however, I
believe that we are on track with the original budget amount of $49,987
My advice at this time would be to take no action on increasing the budget, unless for some reason it
would be easier now than later if needed
