Dear City Manager
We find it necessary to bring our problem to your attention. The problem involves a
storm drain and main sewer that are emitting an unhealthy, hazardous, foul odor.
The location of the storm drain and main sewer is in the Southeast corner of the Estates
of Coppell Townhomes. The nearest cross street to the Estates of Coppell Townhomes is
Independence and MacArthur Blvd. The general location is about 1 mile north of Belt
Line Rd. and MacArthur Blvd intersection.
On several occasions we have experienced the unhealthy, hazardous, foul odor emitting
from the storm drain and main sewer
On at least 2 occasions we contacted the City of Coppell
1. 9/15/2006 - ticket # KI B- 182720
2. 9/25/2006 - ticket # WETE- 386471
City workers were seen inspecting the storm drain and main sewer However, we don't
know the extent of work performed.
Monday, 9/25/2006, we again experienced the unhealthy, hazardous, foul odor which
engulfed our entire backyard.
We thank the City of Coppell for their prompt response to our initial complaints, but our
problem has not been resolved.
We want to bring this to your attention because:
1 Recent attempts to correct the problem have not been successful. The unhealthy,
hazardous, foul odor is strong and future residents who live next door to the storm
drain and main sewer will create more urgency for the problem.
2. Currently there are residents, with small children, who live across a small parking
area from the storm drain and main sewer.

3. There is also Rtverchase Elementary School located directly south of the storm
drain and main sewer
