survey service, for construction stakes for the Parkwood Drainage
Channel, from Espy, Huston & Associates, Inc. It is my under-
standing that the Mud District would split the cost of this sur-
vey with the City. Would you present this to the Board of Di-
rectors at your next meeting for approval. It is the City's in-
tent to present it to the Council on January 13, 1987, for their
approval.

RE: LETTER AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING SERVICES
FOR: Construction Staking for Parkwood Drainage Channel
Dear Mr. Powell:
In accordance with your request, Espey, Huston & Associates, Inc.
(EH&A) is pleased to present this Agreement for Engineering and Surveying services
for the above referenced Project. Included in these services are the following:
I. Staking: EH&A will furnish one set each of the following stakes
for the drainage channel and appurtenances.
One (1) set of stakes for the rough grading on a 50 foot interval.
One (1) set of stakes for the final slope paving on a 50 foot
interval.
It will be the contractors responsibility to preserve such stakes and
markings to construct the drainage channel and appurtenances.
EH&A's compensation for office work performed in connection with
these Services will be computed on the basis of its Salary Cost times a Multiplier
plus Direct Non-Labor Expenses in accordance with EH&A's current Standard Rate
Schedule. Charges for field survey crews will be at an hourly rate as shown on the
Standard Rate Schedule. The current Schedule is shown on Exhibit A, attached
hereto, which is effective until June I, 1987 and may be revised after that date.
For your budget purposes, we esthnate our fee will be approximately
$2,500.00. Any further staking due to the existing stakes being moved or destroyed
by either the contractor or by any other third party will be restaked on a basis of
the Salary Cost times a Multipler plus Direct Non-Labor Expenses in accordance
with EH&A's current Standard Rate Schedule.

Original reproducibles o£ exhibits, reports, field survey books, drawings,
etc., shall re~nain the property of EH&A.
This Letter Agreement shall not be assignable in whole or in part without
the written consent of the other party.
In connection with all the work outlined or contemplated above, it is
agreed that the City of Coppell or EH&A may cancel or terminate this Letter
Agreenqent upon 15 days written notice to the other~ with the provision and
understanding that immediate!y upon receipt of notice of such cancellation or
termination from either party to the other, all work and labor being performed
under this ~-~tter Agreenqent shall immediately cease, pending final cancellation at
the end of sdch 15 day period, and further provided that EH&A shall be compensated
in accordance with the terms of this Letter Agreement for all work accomplished
prior to the receipt o£ notice of such termination.
Venue and jurisdiction of any suit, right o£ cause of action arising under
or in connection with this Agreement shall be exclusively in Dallas County, Texas.
Please acknowledge )'our acceptance of this Letter Agreement by signing
in the space provided below and returning two copies to this ol£ice. Receipt of the
signed copies ,viii be our authorization to proceed with the project.

STANDARD RATE SCHEDULE
Personnel:
Personnel cost is reimbursed based on a multiplier of 2.5 applied to salary
cost. Salary cost for each employee is based on the employee's actual
hourly wage plus benefits. Ranges o£ hourly salary cost by personnel
classification are as follows:

Survey crews are available at fixed hourly party rates.
Three (3) man field crew $75.00 per hour
Electronic Distance Measuring No Charge
Equipment
There is no mileage charge for survey crew vehicles when the job site is
within fifty (50) miles of the office from which the survey crew originates.
Travel & Subsistence:
All travel and subsistence expenses are invoiced at actual cost plus !0%
handling. Cost of mileage on company-owned vehicles is computed at a rate
of 28~ per mile. Cost lot company-owned four wheel drive vehicles is
computed at a rate of 28~ per mile plus $2_5.00 per day.
Purchased Services:
All purchased services are invoiced at actual cost plus 10% handling. These
include but are .qot limited to reproduction~ computer tim% long distance
telephon% consultant% subcontract services, rented or leased equipment,
and expendable supplies.
Terms:
Invoices are submitted monthly for all services rendered and are payable
"Net 30 days." Late payments will incur a late charge o£ one and one-hall
(ih) percent per month from the original date of invoice. EH&A reserves
the right to stop work should invoices not be paid within the stated terms.
