RE: Soil Density Compaction Tests -Extension of Existing Parking Area
Site Development -Lot 2, Blk. "A", Burch Addition
City of Coppell, County of Dallas, State of Texas
Dear Mr. Campbell:
On March 23, 1998, we completed soil density compaction tests for the subgrade supporting the
new reinforced concrete pavement extension. Soil samples were taken from a depth of six (6) to
eight (8) inches below the existing compacted subgrade surface (top and final compacted "lift" of
the select fill material). The subsequent test results are outlined as follows.
SITE LOCATION DRY DENSITY MOISTURE % COMPACTION &
B( ORING) PCF % TO OPTIMUM
Sample - B1 109.7 17.0% 99.8%
-0.2%
Sample - 62 114.9 9.7% 95.7%
-3.0%
Sample - 63 117.8 11.7% 98.1
-1.1%
The soil samples were taken by the "Harris Tube Method" and weighed. All samples were dried to
determine the moisture content. The soil's moisture content levels were than plotted onto the Texas
Soil Curve Chart to find the relative compaction at Standard Proctor density in accordance with
A.S.T.M. D-698.

The soil samples obtained for testing passed and meet soil density compaction requirements (95%
of Standard Proctor - A.S.T.M. D-698) as specified on the paving plans for the reinforced concrete
pavement extension for the site.
Thank you for allowing us to be of service. If we may provide additional information, please advise.
Sincerely,
