The approved "Construction PIans for Vista Point II, Lot 4, Block A in the City of
Coppell, Tetras' call for a 10 "x6' Tapping Sleeve and Valve for a non- potable fire
protection line Upon construction of this tapping sleeve and valve we discovered a pre-
existing condition that we have now been asked to remedy The previous contractor for
the overall development of ` Vista Point 11. Lots 3 -7" constructed a 10" :ion- Potable Fire
Line about 5" abw c a Wastewater Cleanout
Upon review of TCEQ requirements "290 44 Water Distribution. Section e, No 4, Letter
B there are no rcquircmcnts for a crossing of non - potable water with a wastewater
cleanout. The minimum requirements for crossings are 18" separation, with 9' in both
directions of cement stabilized encasing. This minimum standard is applied onl, to
crossings of potable water sources and sanitary sewer mains
Due to the fact that the fire line is completely protected by Double Check Detector
Assemblies at the connection points to domestic manis, it is our suggestion that the 5
separation should be filled with Cement Stabilized backfill per TCEQ requirements but
only he extended 5' in both horizontal directions of the Wastewater line. This should
satisfy any concerns of contamination to a non - potable w ater source
