Sorry to take so long on the tree modification proposal. I was trying to get one of our
environmental/arborist folks to assess the trees before responding. I've not been able to get a good
opinion due to being winter time and just looking at a photo.
Sam and I looked at the plans and came up with a way that we could realign the sidewalk around the trees
and construct tree wells and some short retaining walls. It will cost us about $3500 to redo the plans
working with some short retaining walls and some detailing to address ADA issues with the sidewalks.
The retaining walls will add a little cost to the project as well.
One of our folks have had good luck with the US Forest Service in assessing and advising on tree health.
This gentleman contacted the Forest Service to ask a question and they showed up at his home in a
couple of days with a wealth of information. You might want to try that before making a decision.
