DR8601-CS 860127January 27, 1986 Mr. Ed Powell, P.E. Coppell City Engineer City of Coppell P. O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75011 RE: Drainage ditch failure adjacent to the Parkwood II subdivision, Coppell, Texas Dear Mr. Powelh I am contacting you regarding the failure of the drainage ditch adjacent to the subdivisions Parkwood II and Parkwood III. I was discussing this matter with the board of the Coppell Municipal Utility District No. i ("CMUD") at the January 14, 1986 meeting at which you were present. It was my understanding, from the remarks made by Mr. Proctor, that you would be the person to contact. I have been attempting to reach you by phone since the meeting; however, I have been unable to do so. Briefly, the soil supporting the concrete pilot channel has eroded causing the channel to collapse in several locations. Approximately two hundred feet (200') of the pilot channel has been affected. Alley, storm sewer and drainage improvements are in danger of collapse if action is not taken soon to rectify this problem. The entire channel was designed and installed during the design and construction of Parkwood Section One. I have enclosed the Parkwood II plat showing the location of the failure. I will make myself available at any time to meet with you to discuss this matter further. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
