1ST ISLAND 19 X 96 = 1824 SF including new curb
2ND ISLAND 12 X 56 = 672 SF including new curb
3RD ISLAND 5.5 X 39 (optional island) SF including new curb
CONCRETE: Bid two ways; With optional island and without.
Option 1: THREE ISLANDS
REMOVE 2711 SF IN THREE AREAS: Saw cut existing concrete at designated boundaries
and excavate to 8" deep. Haul off all debris
CONSTRUCT 437 L.F. OF NEW CURB FOR THREE ISLANDS: Dowel into existing paving,
form and install three bars of 3/8" steel rebar along length of curb. Pour new curb to match
existing an give rough broom finish. Concrete should achieve a minimum compression strength
of 3500 PSI within 28 days.
Option 1: JUST TWO ISLANDS
REMOVE 2496 SF IN TWO AREAS: Saw cut existing concrete at designated boundaries and
excavate to 8" deep. Haul off all debris
CONSTRUCT 354 L.F. NEW CURB FOR TWO ISLANDS: Dowel into existing paving, form and
install three bars of 3/8" steel rebar along length of curb. Pour new curb to match existing an
give rough broom finish. Concrete should achieve a minimum compression strength of 3500
PSI I within 28 days.
LANDSCAPING: Please come up with your own plan. I would like to use as many Live Oak
Trees as possible and stagger them (one closer to the south curb, then the next closer to the
north curb and so on, but don't use two systematic (try to give it a natural look. I'd like the
base price to include the fastest growing and largest starting size live oaks and then alternate
prices for one or more smaller sizes. Also I'd like an option of going with Red Oaks for the 2nd
(center of new islands) in the three island version. And I also think it would be nice to
incorporate some grass areas and to use some large boulders.
Landscaping bids should include all irrigation installed, soil, plants, ground cover, trees, and
one 110 watt outdoor electrical power box for each island.
Option 1 = 2711 SF - (437 LF curb x 18") = 2055 SF of landscaping
Option 2 = 2496 SF - (354 LF curb x 18") = 1965 SF of landscaping
