DR8601-CS 840820GINN, INC. C CONSULTING ENGINEERS TO: FROM: DATE: SUB3ECT: H. Wayne Ginn Mike P. Lusk, Inspector August 20, 1984 Storm Sewer Meadows Four Project On August 15, 1984, I checked the storm sewer on the Meadows Four project and found no rock bedding under storm sewer. Also, the backfill was not compacted; just pushed in on top of the pipe. On August 16, 1984, I informed Harry with D & M Construction that pipe will have 6" bed rock cushion or I would not accept it for the city. Harry called Mike Huddleston on the radio and informed him of the situation. Mike told Harry to keep placing pipe and would meet with me around noon to discuss this matter. I met with Mike Huddleston, Taylor Buckner, and Harry around noon and informed all of them that the pipe placement was not acceptable due to rock bedding not in place. Taylor Buckner told me that the design engineer said to place on natural ground except where water was encountered. This does not agree with the Cross section in the plans. I told Kevin Peiffer of my office of this situation on August 16, 1984, and also that Mr. Daniels, project engineer, would contact him about this. Taylor Buckner assured me that the engineer for this project would contact Kevin. Mike P. Lusk Inspector MPL: sr 16135 Preston Road · Suite 106 · Dallas, Texas 7524,8 · Phone 214/386-6611
