Sandy Lake Road "Mark Holliday" <mholliday@tnp-online.com>, "Mike Jones" <mjones@tnp-online.com> Suzan, I have looked at the church drive and I think that we can work with the contractor to provide access at all times. We will also require that he provide at least 20' of pavement on Sundays to provide access to the church. This will be an area that will need more detail and notes in the traffic control plans in order to let the contractor know what is going on here. It may also require the contractor to provide temporary pavement more than once or twice in order to get the final improvements constructed within the proposed construction easement. The other option would be a temporary detour drive for this property. Could you check with the representative from the church to see if they would be willing to expand the temporary construction easement to the east property line to provide a temporary pavement detour? This option would require the removal and replacement of a couple of trees and some additional irrigation & sod repair, but it may be cheaper than requiring the contractor to construct and reconstruct temporary pavement on that drive. This option would also provide two lanes of access at all times and would not interfere with the fire lane. With either option, we need to add some notes to the plans to let the contractor know what he has to work with, Ultimately, he will have to provide a detailed plan for us to approve prior to beginning construction. We just need to make it clear in the plans that he will need to provide access to that property at all times and two lanes on Sunday, so that he can bid it properly. Please let me know what you think and we will adjust the plans accordingly with the final comments. -----Original Message----- From: Suzan Taylor [mailto:staylor@ci.coppell.tx.us] Sent: Monday, September 13, 2004 10: 14 AM To: Matt Atkins Subject: W. Sandy Lake Road Matt: I am still trying to get everyone's comments on the plans and specs. I am also working on the land rights acquisition. The Cappell Bible Fellowship asked if both lanes of the drive could be open on Sundays. The traffic control calls for one lane to be closed during the first phase of construction. I talked to the inspector about our options and he suggested constructing a temporary drive for the church or asking them if we could close the drive for a week, so that the entire drive could be constructed at one time. We can not close the drive because of fire protection. What are your suggestions on how we might keep both lanes open on Sundays?
