The City of Coppell has reviewed your sign layouts. We have the following comments to offer:
1. All signs shall be on the 8' layout with the exception of Royal LN and N. Coppell Rd. Royal Ln and N.
Coppell Rd shall be on the 6' Layout.
2. There appears to be an error on the layout of the Sandy Lake Road sign at the intersection of North
Coppell Road. It appears the 600 and 700 have been transposed. See the attached .pdf file for
clarification.
3. It appears that a different font is used on the Sandy Lake signs for the word "Sandy" and the word
"Lake"
4. On the signs that do not have a block number under the street designation (LN, PKWY, etc.) there is
too much space between the designation and the end of the sign. Please push this out to the same
location as it is on the signs with block numbers.
Please address these issues and submit the revised sign layouts for review

I spoke to our sign layout design engineer regarding the spacing of the
letters. The sign program that we use was written around and with guidance
from MUTCD and FHA to increase the visibility and readability of our
nation's highway signage. We typically use the Highway "C" font unless the
customer wants a heavier or thicker font. As far as adjusting the space
between the letters, all we can do is adjust the font by increasing or
decreasing it in size a certain percentage This would spread out the
letters but still basically remain spaced the way they are now. I have
attached your layouts for you to review in both 6' and 8' lengths. Please
look them over and call me with any questions. My recommendation would be
to go with 8' lengths on all of the signs with the exception of Royal Lane.
