Enclose; Please find the letter we have received from Union Metal Corp,
indicating that the existing foundation with 17" bolt circle at NE corner of Beltline and
McArthur can be used for the 40' mast arm pole with transformer base.
We are waiting to receive prices for the additional camera from Paradign Traffic and I
will send you a separate letter regarding this item later on.
Please review the enclose diagram showing all existing conduit and all changes for this
intersection.
Please call me for any additional information you may need.

Dear Morrie,
I have reviewed the design, based upon 1994 AASHTO, 80 1'vIPH, wind zone
rating, and the loading requirements for the steel base, pole and 40 ft mast arm. Based
upon the actual loading ( 1 ea. 5 section signal, w/back plate and 2 ea. 3 section signaJs
w/back plates) a 17" Bolt Circle and 1 W' anchor bolts is sufficient. The combined stress
ration is less than 1.0 and is acceptable. A modification to the steel base will be undertaken
on this pole to make it fit the existing foundation. This modification will not affect the
structural integrity of the pole nor the warrant of the assembly.
