Problem Details It looks (and smells) like someone is dumping into Cottonwood Creek. There is a terrible smell in the water at Wagon
Wheel Park. I followed the discoloration back to the Fellowship Church property, so it begins further west that that.

Description EH staff met on site at the creek on Sunday Morning. I walked the creek and determined that the creek was full of
sewage. I could not locate the source, but thought that the sewage leak was not within the City limits. Water
Utilities was called to come out and assist. Frankie and I walked the creek and saw a large amount of sewage as far
west as Coppell city limits and into Grapevine. Grapevine was notified and a crew came out. The leak was detected
in a main line about 2:00 pm. Grapevine crews dammed the creek with dirt at royal lane and started pumping the
water and sewage from the creek. Crews were still pumping on Monday. TCEQ was notifiied - they came out to the
scene and met with Grapevine crews. The creek east of the dam and up to the tennis center was treated with HTH
and the pumper truck pumped out water from the creek. HTH was also used west of the dam after the water had
been pumped. EH staff is waiting for the report from Grapevine. Water Utilities (Ted) responded to the scene and
has contact info for the Grapevine staff. Ted said there is no point in sampling the creek water because they know
there will still be a sewage residue. Department was changed from 'Information Systems' to 'Environmental Health.'
Assigned To was changed from 'Information Systems' to 'CN =Carol Primeaux/O= Coppell.' Status was changed from
'Assigned' to 'Work in Progress.'
