Halff Associates arrived on site at approximately 2:00 pm on September 17 for
construction observation. The irrigation system and the landscaping near the monument
sign at the intersection of Freeport Parkway and Dividend Drive have not yet been
repaired. Robert McCann of Catellus expressed his desire to have this area repaired and
backfilled as soon as possible. However, there is still a problem with the existing sanitary
sewer under Freeport Parkway and a more extensive investigation is needed to determine
the problem. I will get in touch with Garreth Campbell to discuss the problem with the
sanitary sewer line. I am trying to avoid having the contractor repair the irrigation
system, landscaping, and backfilling the area just to have it dug up again to repair the
sewer. The contractor was chlorinating the 16" water line. The contractor said that the
pressure test on the 16" water line was performed and it passed. The contractor said that
they reinstalled the connection between the 16" and 12" water line that was previously
leaking. The concrete has been poured for the "y" inlet. The top of the "y" inlet still
needs to be constructed. The two western most curb inlets have been poured with
concrete and the two eastern most curb inlets were being formed. The storm sewer
manholes still need to be constructed. The contractor still needs to install the PVC
sleeves; however, he is waiting on construction staking from McMahon.
