Subject: IH -635 Westbound Frontage Road Extension and Ramp Reversals.
Dear Property Owner:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in cooperation with the City of Irving is
planning to extend the westbound frontage road and reverse locations of ramps along IH -635
from Beltline Road to Olympus Boulevard. A design exhibit has been provided for your
viewing.
Currently, the westbound frontage road terminates where it intersects with Home Depot Drive.
The extension of the frontage road will improve access to Beltline Road and increased safety and
operations will be achieved by reversing the ramps.
The present frontage road consists of three (3) twelve (12) -foot lanes with curb and gutter. The
extension is designed to match the existing section. The additional right -of -way needed for the
project will come only from the tract of land to the north of the project. The additional right -of-
way will be acquired by the City of Irving.
Construction of the frontage road will cause traffic on the westbound through lanes to be shifted
over during construction of the connecting ramps to those lanes. The number of through lanes
will not be reduced. While the connecting ramps are being constructed westbound traffic exiting
to Beltline Road will use the Olympus Boulevard exit. Access to properties in the area will not
be restricted by the construction process.
All adjacent property owners to the planned area of construction are being notified of the
proposed project. As previously mentioned a design exhibit has been provided. However, the
design schematic and environmental document are available for review at the TxDOT Northwest
