REF: Kaye Street Drainage
Dear Mr. Goram:
As you requested, we are.wrovidlng ~ formal re~-'~o:-~-e~_ ..~. to .....
Kayo Street drainage situation cn the p'-o~:,-~v_ _ _~ ~ ad~ace~:z~ ts
the Shadow Ridge subdivision' in CoDpeli_. We r-o~a~-_.-~_ that
this issue has been difficult for the Cizy and far the
homeowners involved. Over '-=
t,,~ past months, Centex/Fox &
Jacobs has attempted to cooperate in every way possible with
the City to resolve the sltuatio:~. Centex has ~orovlded the
C~.ty with information concerning th~_ design of t,.~ o,.c,.~.;,,.~"
Ridge sk~bdivislon, has reviewed drainage reports prepared
outside consultants, has taken survey da~a of ss. me cf tko
affected property and has attempted to assist Ln tko
solution to the problem through such actions as ;rLr:m?..]:j
bottoms of screening fences and regra~inc of yards alonu'
Spanish Moss Court. Although Centex does not have
hand knowle~ce ~= tile drainage ~rob!ems, :tala y~' ...... ~-
appears to support the claim that some ponding of water does
occur~,,~" tile rear yards of the Kaye Street residences.
The problem with the drainage cf the reszdences along the
north side of Kaye Street appears to be the result of a
combination of many factors including the origi:.lal design of
the Kaye Street neighborhood itself Tko ~,.~a-,.~
designed ill a -~cw, fla% area of the city w:tn no
natural drainage ou~falls. Survev~ data ~r~,v~_.~-~== ~:'-" Kimiev

residences on Kaye Street do not appear ~o drai::z..~'- any
particular direction, north or south. This as bases ou
current grades existing in the yards exclusive~ ...... =~.= ~=~,.-~

out-buildings constructed by the Kaye Street residents
aggravate the problems of the flat grades.
In reference to the Shadow Ridge subdiv~s~ou, ~t is.
