October 10, 2004 Bethel Road II Construction Sam Meisner Project Updates: · We are working on the plan and profile sheets for the sewer line in Coppell Road. · The meeting minutes for the Oct. 1 design team meeting are attached with this update. - The following action items came out of the public meeting on Oct 5: o Look at extending the historic area to Park Lane and possibly all the way to the Grapevine Creek bridge. This would include using the enhanced pavement in the sidewalks and adding poles with banner arms at each end of the Grapevine Creek. o Look at extending the sidewalk on the north side from the current end at Sta 20+50 to the first intersection with Hearthstone Lane for the Old Coppell Estates subdivision. This would probably be a 5' wide sidewalk along the curb. o Look at adjusting the horizontal alignment between Park Lane and Penfolds Lane to save trees along The Reserve. o Look at the curb radii at entrance to The Summit at The Springs subdivision. Also revise plans to remove sidewalks on interior of island. o The City Planner did not approve the use of the slate pattern and colors as specified in the plans. Should we revise the plans now or wait until it is determined whether a variance is possible? o The issue of the left turn lane from Bethel to Coppell was raised. Based on an initial look at the plans, we could fit something in if the lanes on the west side are about 11' wide. Is this something that we should consider in more depth and provide a recommendation? o Look at revising the drainage improvements at Sta 39+00 to include extending the main to the outfall at the bridge abutment instead of at the current location at 239 Bethel Road. Tasks and deliverables for the next two weeks: · Submit preliminary design plans for Coppell Road sanitary sewer. · Prepare submittal for ADAJTAS preliminary review Date: 10/21/04 Deliverable: Franchise Utility Meeting and 60% Sewer plan submittal Additional Issues: · The lighting in the Old Coppell area was discussed at our last meeting. From the discussions, it sounded like the City plans on using TXU to install the antique-style lighting. Can you confirm this? We also need to discuss how the lights on the bridges/culverts will be installed. . We are waiting for a final decision on the bridge layout to begin detailed design. From comments received at our previous meeting and at the public meeting, it sounds like the decision will be to build the bridge in the same location. The decision on the bridge is also needed so that the ROW documents in the area can be revised if necessary. . We are not planning on having a design team meeting on October 21. Sam Meisner will attend the franchise utility meeting on Oct 21.
