Drainage Problems
In response to our discussion at the Council meeting of December 13,
1988 and your letter dated December 14, 1988, please be advised of
the following scheduling on the engineering evaluation funded by the
City Council.
Originally, we indicated that the schedule would take 4-6 weeks for
the approved initial engineering review and due to the holidays, etc.
we anticipate being able to meet the 6 week timing. That is, we will
look toward to meeting with you and the Consultant, as well as any
other homeowner(s), who care to attend during the week of January
23. The work could possibly get done earlier than that, and if so,
we will schedule an earlier meeting.
This initial engineering review is a part of the total public
improvement process that consists of:
Phase I Preliminary Engineering Review and Recommended
improvements with estimated costs;
Phase II Final Engineering Desi§n and Construction document
development;
Phase III Construction of the Improvement

Phase I will provide us the options/solutions available for Phase II
and III.
As we discussed, Phase II and III may entail only minor
improvements that could be done by City or county forces; or more
complex work that would need to be done by contractors with
engineering design drawings and specifications.
The time for City/County work would be the time it takes for ordering
materials and scheduling the work. Conceivable 1-2 months given
adequate weather conditions.
In order to contract for improvements the following timing would be
anticipated:
o Contact documents development 3-4 weeks
o Advertise 3-4 weeks
o Start up and construction 2-4 weeks
Total 8-12 weeks.
Combining the 8-12 weeks with the 4-6 weeks for the initial study
provides us a possible outside timetable of 2-3 months with good
weather conditions.
