RE: Recommended Engineering Study Related to Storm on July 12, 1988
Dear Mr. Bain:
As you requested, in follow-up to my telephone call to you today, I
indicated that the consideration for subject study will not be
presented to the City Council on Tuesday, October 25, 1988, as I had
originally anticipated.
This proposal was not a budgeted item, and I must complete an analysis
of existing funding to see if there might be available funds; and/or if
I can recommend a reprioritization of currently funded projects,
possibly making funds available for the study. This work should be
done mid to late November.
The Engineering Study being recommended will be the Preliminary Phase
of the capital improvement process. If funded, the Study would make an
analysis of the current public stormwater collection system at your
location. Depending upon the results of that study, further
recommendations may be made. An example of one of the many possible
recommendations, would be to install an auxilliary or relief system.
If so, then the estimated costs to design and construct such an
improvement would be made. Then we would need to identify available
funding and make the recommendation for consideration and approval by
the City Council. If approved, we would then select consultant
engineers to design the improvement, advertise and award a contract,
and supervise the construction of the improvement to completion.
I hope this is sufficient for your information and distribution to your
neighbors. We will continue to work with you and your neighbors to try
to resolve this situation and your concerns.
Sincerel~
