DR8902-CS 881020 (3) MEMORANDUM October 20, 1988 TO: Russell Doyle, City Engineer FROM: Dale Jackson, Building officia~ RE: Plastic Pipes in Creek Near 632 Bethel School Rd. The memo I received from you on October 3 requested that I investigate whether it is permissible to run underground plastic pipes into a drainage ditch. I can find no ordinance, that is enforced by this department, that prohibits running roof or yard drains into a drainage ditch. It is possible that the subdivision ordinance does contain some type of requirement that would regulate the placement of drainage pipes; however, this department does not enforce the regulations of the subdivision ordinance. We did inspect the site to attempt to determine how the pipes are utilized. We could not find any plastic pipes that drained into the drainage ditch. We also checked with Steve Morton, since Steve had worked extensively with Don Jones on problems with the drainage ditch. Steve was also not aware of any plastic pipes that drained into the ditch. xc: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works Steve Morton, Chief Development Inspector Linda Varonich, Environmental Health Officer
