Dear Mr. McGraw:
The City of Coppell has reviewed the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer:
1. Sheet C 1.01
Your legend indicates that lime will not be provided under the on-site paving. Your paving
thickness and strength appear to be adequate; however, a letter requesting a waiver of lime
from the on-site paving should be submitted to this office. Those requests are routinely
approved once submitted. Stabilization will still be required beneath the drive approaches
within the city's right-of--way. That stabilization is typically 8 inches of crushed limestone.
2. Sheet C3.04
Additional detail information should be provided on the detention basin.
The transition from the 5'x2' RCB to the 36" RCP is unclear. The discharge velocity from
they 'x2' RCB is approximately 8.66 fps. The water has to make a turn within approximately
10 feet to the proposed 36" RCP. There could be potential for erosion along the northeast
side of the proposed detention basin. Please reevaluate. Also, the riprap should be grouted
riprap.
TI~-ese are the only comments for this set of construction plans.
Once these changes have been made, please submit revised copies. The City of Coppell requires
three sets of final construction plans for its use; your office should submit as many additional
sets for approval as is necessary for construction operations. All contractors and subcontractors
onsite must have a copy of the plans approved by the City of Coppell.
All fees must be paid prior to the release of this project for construction. The City charges a 2%
inspection fee for all private construction outside the building's footprint. This includes dirt
work, paving, storm drains, water lines, sewer lines, drainage pipes, etc. that are private. For all
installations in the public right-of-w•ay or easement, the City charges a 4% inspection fee. A
check for inspection fees made to the City of Coppell should be submitted to this office along
with the Construction Development Permit Application and a copy of the NOI. For your

convenience a spreadsheet is attached to the permit application for use in calculating the
inspection fees. A copy of the contract(s) should be attached for verification purposes.
