DR8902-CS 880712 On July 12, 1988, the inadequacy of city storm sewers,
to handle heavy rainfall, was made very apparent to
homeowners on Bethel School, Pelican and Falcon Roads.
That evening, thunderstorms resulted in flood damage to
Bethel School and Pelican homes, as storm water poured in
off of the flooded streets. Insurance policies, be it
private or government, do not cover such claims nor does the
City of Coppell's insurance company.
Therefore, we, the homeowners, strongly urge the
Counc i 1 to promptly address the issue by author i zing
installation of additional storm sewer capacity and thereby
prevent recurrence of the July 12, 1988, incident.
