Dear Mr. Wolfe:
I am writing this letter on behalf of my Mother, Mrs.
Wisener, who is a 30 year resident of Coppell. In that 30
years, I do not know of anythin_q she has ever asked of or
from the City of Coppell, except for the last year. In that
time she has called and written asking for help with the
flooding problem in her yard, which now has gone on for over
a year. And to date, not one single effort has been made by
the City.
My ,X~other is 75 years old. She has a heart condition, does
not drive, and has basically one hobby in her life. And
that is her garden each Spring. Of course, that has been
taken away from her last year and this year. She also eats
the food produced in years past.
We are told the Engineering Dept. at the City is looking
into this problem. They have been "looking" long enough.
Those lots behind my Mother's house were built up which
causing the water to flood her yard. What else do ~hey need
to look at for over a year? 1%.]ould like very much
invite %he entire department to my Mother's yard today and
they can see how the water stands in her yard for days and
days after any rain. I think this is going to continue to
cause a health problem on that entire street.
We are at the point of going elsewhere for help such as
"Contact Eight" channel 8 news, Hot Line in the Dallas
Morning News, legal assistance for senior citizens, and any
other source we can find out about. I~ is unjust for a
senior citizen to be shoved aside and no one at City Hall
seems to care one thing about her situation.

I do know that the recent bond election has thousands of
dollars for flood areas. I worry that Kay Street will come
too far after the Woodlands and any other area of more
expensive homes (preferred areas).
Could someone contact myself or my Mother and give us some
answers to this situation as soon as possible? We have all
lived in Coppell for many years and paid many dollars in
taxes and feel we deserve answers.
