Gentlemen:
Submitted here are the results of testing and observation of
construction materials at the referenced project. This report
addresses activities for the period of August 5 through 21, 1992.
On August 12 and 14, 1992, a representative of our firm visited the
site to check the gradation of the soil-lime mixture in Bethel School
Road and Dakota Lane. Gradations were checked and found to range.
between 70 and 74 percent passing the No. 4 Sieve. The soil-lime
mixture was therefore approved and compaction operations began. A
sample of the lime treated soil was obtained and a Standard Proctor
compaction test was performed. Results of this test are shown on
Plate 1.
During the period of August 5 through 21, 1992, 12 field density tests
were taken on the fill placed in the proposed residential building
pads in Blocks A and B and on the compacted lime treated subgrades of
Dakota Lane and Bethel School Road. Test results are shown on Plate
2. Where tested, the materials were found to be in compliance with
project specifications, except as noted. Where materials were not in
compliance, the soils were reworked and retested. Test failures and
retests are noted in lower and upper case letters, respectively.
