Description of Project Preparation of construction plans and specifications for storm sewer inlets on Brooks Lane in the Hunterwood SubdMsion. This is a portion of the Stage I improvements included in the City-Wide Storm Water Management Plan. Installation of the inlets on Brooks Lane would provide minimal additional protection for the residence at 415 Brooks Lane. However, it would allow the remaining improvements to be moved to a later phase. The property owner could also be advised of flood proofing methods such as the installation of a driveway curb to provide additional protection for the garage. B. Scope of Work Basic Services Phase 1 - Survey for Design · Set Control · Design Surveys Phase 2 - Design Services · Prepare construction draw'rags Utility conflicts Inlet design · Update cost estimates for final design · Obtain plan approval from the city 1 staff meeting (maximum) 1 council meeting (maximum) - additional staff meetings or property o~vner coordination will be substituted if a council meeting is not required. · Prepare construction contracts and specifications Page 1 PROPOSAL (cont.) BROOKS LANE - STAGE I PARTIAL LNLETS ONLY Services Not Included in this Contract · Bidding and contract award · Contract administration · Survey for construction · Full time or half time resident construction inspector · Consulting services by others except as noted in the Scope of Work · Filing fees, permit fees and taxes · Certification that work is built in accordance ~vith plans and specifications · Environmental impact assessments · Survey for preparation of record drawings · Printing of plans and specifications over and above those required for city review. C. Fee Proposal Phase 1 - Survey for Design $619.00 Phase 2 - Design Services Construction Plans and Specifications $3,277.00 Total Basic Fee Proposal $3,896.00 The Basic Fee for the services described above will be ba:;ed on a lump sum fee of $3,896.00. The engineering services will be billed monthly or at the completion of each phase, whichever comes first. The work will be invoiced on an hourly basis of 2.13 times salary costs. Salary cost as defined by the ASCE Manual and Report on Engineering Practice No. 45 is the cost of salaries (including sick leave, vacation, holiday and indentive pay) for time directly chargeable to the project, plus unemployment, excise and payroll taxes and contributions for social security, employment compensation insurance, retirement, medical and insurance benefits. Direct costs such as reproduction, sub-consultant services, long distance phone calls, deliveries, etc. will be billed at 1.10 times cost. Computer charges will be invoiced at 1.0 times cost.
