In accordance with your request, we obtained six representative e samples o f he material 1997
expos at the subgrade level at the referenced project
Atterberg Limits tests and an Eades and Grim Lime Series test were performed on the
representative soil samples. The results of the Atterberg Limits and lime Series tests
are presented below:

An Eades and Grim pH and a Lime Series test were performed on sample #2. The
results are as follows:
Based on the results of the tests, we recommend that the concrete street subgrade be
stabilized with the addition of 6 percent hydrated lime (28 pounds per square yard for a
six -inch stabilized layer). The lime and the stabilization and compaction of the subgrade
should be performed in accordance with the applicable City specifications.
