DR8801-CS 890731July 31, 1989 TO: Russell R. Doyle, P.E., City Engineer FROM: Larry Davis, Construction Inspector RE: BETHEL ROAD DRAINAGE PROJECT The concrete placement on the 10' X 5' Box Culvert is now complete. Test results are to follow 'for seven (7) day and twenty-eight (28) day calendar breaks on wall sections and deck sections. The contractor has started backfill operations on the right side and left side of the Box Culvert. He is unable to start backfill over the deck section until cylinder reports are received. I have requested Buckelew Construction to begin final clean-up in and around that portion of the project adjacent to Minyards to facilitate repair to the existing sprinkler system and replacement of landscaping. Danny Buckelew was instructed to be in personal contact with Minyards in the timely completion of this portion of the contract. The Contractor has also started some general clean-up of the project and making repairs on sections that were damaged during construction. A number of items remain before we can expect a complete project compared to the construction contract. Before a time extension was granted to Buckelew Construction on this project, I requested a project schedule be submitted. The project schedule has yet to be received. At the present rate of work progress, it is doubtful that a completed project can be expected at the end of the time extension. I will list a few of the items to be completed. 1. Proper backfill of Box Culvert, including density requirements. 2. Final grading of entire projects for surface drainage. 3. Repair of damaged completed work. 4. Complete clean-up of project site. 5. Landscaping (as required). LD/lsg
